| The process starts with managing the project leads. Once a lead is created, initial understanding and project costing is done. After the project is awarded, contractual formalities are carried out. This may include Statement of Work, Non Disclosure Agreement etc.
In the Inception phase, the project participants may also be educated about the MADM. It is very important that all the participants understand and imbibe the values and practices of MADM.
This is now the time to create a Project Initiation Document.
Project Initiation Document
The Project Initiation Document (PID) is the starting point for the project. The PID should include the following:
- Project Vision
- Estimated Time frame
- Team Allotted
- Main user stories (if known)
- Any specific feature requirements
- Server details
- Contact Details of client
- Emergency Contact Details for client
The Relationship Manager makes the PID in association with the client and the entire team can use it as a guideline throughout the project.
Kickoff Meeting
Each project starts its actual movement with the Kickoff Meeting. Relationship Manager, Project Manager, Team Leader, Developers working on the project, Lead Quality Circle, Quality Circle Executive, Designer and any domain expert / top management are present in the kickoff meeting. The goal of the meeting is to familiarize the entire team with the core concepts of the project and align their understanding. The kickoff meeting can also have the customer participating via a phone call or physically if possible. Another motive of this meeting is to get everybody familiar with each other so communication becomes easier later on.
