Ministry of Company Affairs (MCA), Government of India has launched MCA21 program. The purpose is to provide an easy and secure access to MCA services in a manner that best suits the businesses and citizens. MCA21 set a vision to provide anytime and anywhere services to businesses. It is one of the pioneering program under the egovernance project being undertaken in the country.
The MCA had announced that the filings by the companies, without the use of Digital Signature Certificates (DSC) by the authorized signatories, would be accepted till July 31, 2006. Keeping in view the requests from company representatives and professionals, it has been decided to extend this date up to November 30th 2006. Accordingly all authorized signatories of companies and the professionals may procure Class 2 category or higher DSC well before the last date.
The program goals are defined keeping in mind the stakeholders' needs. The goals are as follows:
- It enables business to file statutory documents quickly and easily
- It helps public to get easy access to relevant records
- It supports professionals to offer efficient services to their client companies
- It helps financial institutions to easily find the charges for registration and verification
- It ensures employees about the proactive and effective compliance of relevant laws and corporate governance
