SendMAX is written in C++ with MySQL backend. It can be integrated with any popular mail transfer agent - Sendmail, Qmail, Postfix or Exim. SendMAX picks up the subscriber and message details from the database, composes the message and delivers it to the Mail Transfer Agent (MTA) specified. SendMAX can "mail merge" - compose emails with data picked up from a database. This
allows you to personalize the outgoing messages.

SendMAX does not handle the actual delivery itself. This provides the advantage of integration with any existing MTA or building a custom MTA as per your requirements. SendMAX is a standalone application and can be easily integrated with a mailing list manager written in PHP, Perl or other languages.
