Magnet Technologies Pvt Ltd. started as a dynamic organization under the leadership of Nirav Mehta. It was established on May 28, 1999 as a company providing web solutions. It also promoted Magnet e-zine, India's first e-zine (featured in Limca Book of Records).
From day one, it was more than clear that Magnet would not stay just another software outfit. Based on the core values of professionalism and total customer satisfaction, Magnet ventured into the booming Internet and web solutions scenario in India.
The initial projects came from acquaintances and word of mouth publicity. With four computers and an almost equivalent headcount, the seeds for a bigger, better tomorrow were just being sown. Being a small company helped keep the interaction going and also the chance to experiment and learn about new technologies. Magnet decided to work on Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP. This was like riding the opposite wave. No organization had embraced the open source technologies as much as Magnet did!
Magnet was able to break even in the first year itself. Gradually, Magnet's portfolio grew and it started to work with bigger corporate houses on some of the most enriching projects of the time.

Magnet won KPMG India business, which was probably the greatest learning period for all at Magnet, as challenging work was done in both the design and programming areas. Magnet kept the flag flying high, adding more members to the team. With bigger and more clients, tougher and exciting projects, the company was self-sufficient and looking ahead. Magnet spread its wings beyond the national boundaries and was soon doing business in dollars. Big work also meant stricter deadlines and stringent quality control. Regular work also started from clients like Evergreen, Supermax and SiteOwners. As clients trusted their valuable projects with Magnet, the team started moving up the value chain.
In mid 2002, Magnet launched two products - Beehive for content management and WebRover as a search engine. Continuing on the expansion plans, Magnet started offering Linux services. Flash experience too brought interesting work to Magnet. By 2003, there were large projects all around the place. Magnet had moved up and was doing high net worth projects, projects that also provided more exposure, more learning and more challenges.
Magnet also improved the infrastructure facilities. Magnet achieved the status of a 100% export oriented business unit from the Software Technology Park of India. The fruits of persistence were clearly visible.

The last five years have been remarkable in terms of technology work, project management, employee motivation and client satisfaction. The journey so far has been exciting. Magnet has grown out of a small venture of college friends to a company aiming high, a company that will change the world. The future is bright!
